List of State and Federal funding, grant and rebate programs available to Australian game developers

I've put together a free resource for you that lists all state and federal funding programs available to Aussie game developers. This post first appeared on Linkedin.

Below, I've highlighted the key rebate programs that you can stack on top of the 30% DGTO for relative state spend:

• South Australian Film Corporation: Provides a 10% rebate on video game development costs in SA, with a minimum spend of $250k per game.

• VicScreen: Provides rebates of 10% or 15% on video game development costs in Victoria, with a minimum spend of $500k per game. The difference in benefit is contingent on having 100% Victorian resident shareholders.

• Screen NSW: Provides a 10% rebate on video game development costs in NSW, with a minimum spend of $500k per game. Important: You must register your game before incurring expenses!!!

• Screen Queensland: Provides a 15% rebate on video game development costs in QLD, with a minimum spend of $250k per game. Important: You must register your game before incurring expenses!!! (This is the best program in Australia, and potentially the world, especially when stacked with the DGTO.)
